Sara Ramirez
Sara Ramirez has been a Mexican American actor, performer and songwriter for several years. Sara Ramirez was raised by an American mother, and encountered a number of racial slurs and caused her to feel uncomfortable. In her 9th grade when she began to gain confidence after being highly praised at an audition. This not only increased her confidence but also changed the direction she pursued in her career. At 22, she graduated from New York's Julliard School. When she was 23, she made her debut on Broadway in Paul Simon's The Capeman and in films featuring You've Got Mail. Her biggest breakthrough was when she starred in the character in the role of The Lady of The Lake in the first Broadway production of Spamalot receiving not just her the Tony Award for her performance but also great critical acclaim. The following year she was made the lead character Dr. Callie Torres in ABC's Grey's Anatomy. This led to her becoming more famous. Alongside having a cult following as a singer, she also released her own solo album and a longer piece. Also, she's been a vocal advocate for LGBT issues.
